Paddy Pimblett is still unhappy with how his fight against Justin Gaethje ended earlier this year, and he is now hoping for a second chance to settle the score.

Pimblett Claims Fight Should Have Been a Draw

Earlier this year, Pimblett came up short for the first time in his UFC tenure so far when he took on Gaethje for the interim lightweight title at UFC 324. Initially, “The Baddy” seemed to accept his defeat, but after re-watching the fight a few times, Pimblett claimed that it should have been a draw.

The Brit’s explanation stated that Gaethje should have been deducted points because of continuous eye-pokes during the fight, which went unnoticed and unpunished by the referee.

Pimblett Confirms UFC 329 Return

Since his loss to “The Highlight” this past January, the 31-year-old has once again been enjoying his time away from the cage. Despite that, Pimblett confirmed his return date this past Friday, revealing that he will return to action at UFC 329 on International Fight Week.

“I’m gonna be fighting in like 12 weeks or something like that, I’m gonna be back, someone is getting muftied,” Pimblett told IFL TV.

“I’m Coming Back for Revenge”

Ahead of his comeback on July 11, “The Baddy” has admitted that he is still chasing a rematch against Gaethje.

“I’m coming back for revenge after I lost my last fight, it’s one of them, everyone loses and it’s how you learn, it’s how you get better,” Pimblett said. “I probably learned more from that fight than winning seven UFC fights.

“I’ve always said it’s in my destiny that I’m gonna be the world champion, and I will,” he continued. “At some point in your career you need a loss to realize stuff, and I think that was that point in my career.

“Hopefully I get the rematch with Gaethje, I’ve got nothing but respect for him but he’s a dirty bastard poking me in the eyes. So, I really hope we get that rematch some day.”

Gaethje’s Future Hangs in the Balance

Not long after their fight, UFC commentator Joe Rogan claimed that Gaethje was “too much too soon” for Pimblett, touching on Pimblett’s previous opponents.

Before Pimblett’s next fight takes place, Gaethje will headline the historic UFC White House event when he looks to become the first fighter to hand Ilia Topuria a loss. Unfortunately for Pimblett, if Gaethje comes up short against Topuria, it could end up being his final ever fight. Gaethje has claimed he would retire from the sport if he loses to Topuria on June 13, 2026.

Pimblett Dismisses Dana White vs. Eddie Hearn Boxing Match

What there is no chance of, according to Pimblett, is a much-hyped boxing showdown between UFC CEO Dana White and Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.

“It’s not gonna happen,” Pimblett said. “Dana’s not gonna box, you know what I mean? I think it’s a bit of a mad situation. Eddie’s got the reach on him, but Dana’s my boss, lads. I’m backing Dana. Dana’s gonna spark him out. But at the same time, it’s not gonna happen. We all agree it’s never gonna happen.”
