Tai Tuivasa is hoping a new environment helps him end his seven-fight losing skid.

The UFC heavyweight has been on a dismal run inside the Octagon, enduring a period that has tied him with BJ Penn for the second longest losing streak in the promotion's history. Tuivasa lost to Louie Sutherland at UFC Perth in May, marking his second defeat in 2026. The 33-year-old will not be slowing down in his pursuit of a first win since 2022, with his return now set for September.

This time around, though, the Australian has made a big change.

New Home, New Hope

To boost his chances of a long-awaited return to winning ways at UFC 331, Tuivasa has been training at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida. Among the heavyweights helping Tuivasa is PFL star Renan Ferreira, who is also going through a difficult time.

"I'm a Floridian now, I'm at ATT, and it's been really good," Tuivasa said on the Show Me The Money podcast. "A lot of knowledge and a lot of big c*nts there, so it's good.

"I'm rocking up, doing the classes and getting knowledge from all of the coaches. I'm training with Renan, the big Brazilian, he's awesome and really good.

"He's showing me a lot. So, yeah, it's good. It's good to be surrounded by a lot of animals."

The Desperate Run

Before losing to Sutherland, Tuivasa also dropped fights against Tallison Teixeira, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Marcin Tybura, Alexander Volkov, Sergei Pavlovich, and Ciryl Gane. Now sitting on the longest losing streak in UFC heavyweight history, "Bam Bam" may be approaching his final fight should he fail to get the better of Robelis Despaigne in Los Angeles on September 19.
